Umrah Step by Step

1 Min Read

Here are the general steps for performing Umrah:

  1. Enter into the state of Ihram: The first step of Umrah is to enter into the state of Ihram, which is a state of ritual purity. Men must wear two pieces of white, unstitched cloth, while women can wear any modest clothing that covers the body and head.
  2. Tawaf: The next step is to perform Tawaf, which involves circling the Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction while reciting prayers and supplications.
  3. Sa'i: After completing Tawaf, the next step is to perform Sa'i, which involves walking seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwa. This represents the search of Hajar (wife of Prophet Ibrahim) for water for her son Ismail.
  4. Shaving or cutting of hair: After completing the Sa'i, men have to shave or trim their hair, while women have to cut a small part of their hair.
  5. Exit from the state of Ihram: The final step is to exit the state of Ihram by taking a shower and changing into regular clothes.

It is recommended to seek guidance from a qualified Islamic scholar or tour operator for more detailed information on performing Umrah.
